Welcome to Wharton's Summer Public Interest Fund

The Summer Public Interest Fund (SPIF) enables first-year Wharton MBA students to pursue summer internships in the public sector by supplementing basic salary needs. The fund is financed by first-year students who donate funds to support of their fellow classmates.

Fund recipients' summer compensation must not exceed $1,000 per week, including funding from alternative sources. Donations are tax-deductible and allow Wharton MBA students to help those who need it most.

For Student Applicants

Additional Information
"I worked for a corporate foundation focusing on AIDS, and they were so excited to have an MBA student to do some analysis for them. SPIF also helps improve the MBA value proposition—most non-profit people are skeptical of MBAs until they actually see how beneficial they can be. The fact that SPIF is entirely student-funded shows how supportive Wharton students are of their classmates."
